Ian Healy Receives Order of Australia Award

Former Norths, Queensland & Australian cricket legend Ian Healy has been recognised in the 2020 Australia Day Honours List.

Healy was named an Officer (AO) in the General Division of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to cricket at the national and international level as a player, to the broadcast media, and to the community.

Healy represented Australia in 119 Tests and 168 One-Day Internationals, while also playing 55 first-class and 31 one-day games for Queensland. He held the world record for international dismissals by a wicket-keeper and was named in Australia’s Team of the 20th Century before taking on roles in state and community cricket, as well as commentary roles in the media.

His roles away from the cricket field have included Chair of the Brisbane Heat Committee, Chair of the Bulls Masters, Director at QC and President of the Australian Cricketers' Association.

Healy was recognised for his work outside of cricket and in the community for his work as Chair of Aspirations4Kids in Sport.
